Terms of use

Last updated 18 September 2026

These terms apply to Study Guide Maker ("we", "us"), a service that builds study materials with the help of AI from the content you provide or from a topic you name, and to the Chrome extension you use it through. Today it builds step-by-step courses with quizzes and tests, and study notes to read, print or export; whatever it builds, and in whatever format, these terms call it your study materials. By using Study Guide Maker you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. How we handle information is described in our Privacy policy.

The short version

  • Study materials are written by AI and can contain mistakes — check anything important against your own sources.
  • Only submit content you have the right to use. It stays yours.
  • Credits are free, have no money value and cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  • Study Guide Maker is provided as it is, and it may change.

Using Study Guide Maker

You may use Study Guide Maker for learning — your own, or that of the people you teach. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Study Guide Maker only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms together with you. Please do not misuse the service: do not try to get around credits or usage limits, do not overload or disrupt the service, do not access it other than through the ways we provide, and do not use it to create material that is unlawful or harmful.

Your content

You keep all rights to the content you submit. By submitting it, you confirm that you have the right to do so and to have it processed by us and by AI service providers to build your study materials. Do not submit content that infringes the rights of others, or that you are not comfortable sharing with AI services. We use it to provide and improve Study Guide Maker.

What is built for you

Your study materials are generated automatically by AI from the content you submit or from a topic you name. They can be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date, and they are not a substitute for your course materials, your teachers or professional advice. You are responsible for how you use them. As far as we are concerned, you may use them for any lawful purpose, subject to the rights of others in the content they were built from.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, grades, opportunities or profits, arising from your use of Study Guide Maker. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
